17. Leipziger Hörspielsommer im Richard-Wagner-Hain Leipzig

What is the Leipziger Hörspielsommer?

The “Leipziger Hörspielsommer” is the biggest festival for audio drama in Germany. It´s organized by the association Hörspielsommer e. V. Since 2003 several thousand visitors enjoy this annual open-air event, located in one of Leipzig’s beautiful city parks.

About 80 productions are presented during the ten-day festival – admission free! To please all ears we offer a program for children and teenagers in the afternoon, and an evening program for adults. Live-performances like readings, shows and live-audio dramas are introduced to the audience on the weekends to give new perspectives on the artistic interpretation of audio dramas. The full schedule will be availabale under www.hoerspielsommer.de shortly before the festivals begins.

In order to put a spotlight on aspiring authors and producers the Leipziger Hörspielsommer hosts several competitions for audio drama productions and one of which is also open for internationl submissions: 20th International Audio Drama Competition. The competitions provide a platform for networking and discussions and they also support young artists on their way towards professionalism.
